Graphic Designer Opportunity

The successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain high design standards in a fast-paced (and fun) environment. This is a print-first role, and we are looking for candidates with a strong foundation in newspaper and magazine design with a sharp eye for layout and typography. Digital experience is helpful, but not required—we can provide training for the right candidate. Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are essential, as designers are responsible for managing their own workload and shifting priorities. Some client interaction may be required, and cross-department collaboration is a key part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Print Publications (primary focus of the position) Working closely with designers, art directors, editors, sales, and production team members, you will take print publications from concept through completion and prepare files for press. Projects may include magazines, newspapers, event programs, and brochures. Experience converting print publications into digital editions is a plus.

• Additional Project Support (as assigned)

• Digital Projects: Support the design and execution of websites, email campaigns, targeted web advertising assets, and social media graphics for our clients. You will collaborate with our digital team to ensure cohesive
  branding and a consistent visual experience across platforms. Travel may occasionally be required for certain digital projects.

• Marketing Projects: Assist with a variety of marketing materials, including (but not limited to) media kits, presentation decks, proposals, reports, emails, case studies.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field with a minimum of 5 years of professional design experience

• 5+ years of experience finalizing print files for press (preflight, packaging, and print-ready exports)

• Expert knowledge of typography rules and styles

• Talent and creativity to prepare designs in accordance with internal and external branding guidelines while also meeting standards of the graphic arts and prepress industries

• Highly developed editorial design instincts, with a clear eye for hierarchy and composition Required Software Competencies

• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Id, Ai, Ps, Acrobat), Google Workspace tools, and some familiarity with Microsoft Office tools

• Proficiency with the following tools will support a smooth transition in the role: Trello and Asana (or other project management software)

• Experience with Figma and/or Adobe XD is a plus

• Experience building emails with a block editor in Hubspot (or similar, such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, SalesForce,etc.) is a plus
