Senior Graphic Designer
Grapevine Designs
Lenexa, KS/full time
Our Creative team is searching for a Senior Graphic Designer who is equally comfortable shaping the big-picture concept and rolling up their sleeves to bring it to life. At Grapevine Designs, we create brand experiences through promotional merchandise, creative services, packaging, e-commerce, and more. Our work moves quickly, our projects are diverse, and no two days look exactly the same. We're looking for a designer who can take ownership of a project from initial idea through final execution while bringing a strong creative perspective and a high level of design expertise to the team.
This role is both creative and hands-on. The Senior Graphic Designer will develop concepts, create polished design solutions, and manage multiple projects with varying timelines, including fast-moving and sometimes same-day requests. In addition to owning their own client work, this person will serve as a senior creative resource for the department, providing design guidance and constructive feedback to other designers and partnering closely with the Creative Director to maintain quality, consistency, and strong creative standards across the team's work. The ideal candidate brings a strong design point of view, excellent communication skills, and the technical expertise to turn an idea into production-ready work across a variety of mediums.
Senior Graphic Designer Key Responsibilities:
Develop creative concepts and design solutions for client and internal projects from initial idea through final production.
Translate client goals, brand guidelines, and project requirements into thoughtful, compelling creative solutions.
Take ownership of assigned projects, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Create a wide range of design work including branded merchandise, apparel, packaging, presentations, lookbooks, promotional materials, digital graphics, and online store assets.
Prepare accurate, production-ready artwork and files for a variety of print, digital, apparel, packaging, and promotional applications.
Serve as the team's in-office design lead, providing creative guidance, feedback, and support to Graphic Designers and Production Designers throughout the design process.
Review creative work for quality, accuracy, brand consistency, and production readiness.
Collaborate with Account Directors, Account Managers, and other internal teams to develop creative solutions that meet client objectives.
Participate in client meetings, project discussions, brainstorming sessions, and creative presentations as needed.
Help develop concepts and creative direction for larger projects, presentations, RFPs, and internal initiatives.
Work closely with the Creative Director to maintain consistent creative standards and processes across the department.
Stay current on company products, services, industry trends, and emerging design and promotional marketing opportunities.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment where projects may require same-day or short-turnaround execution.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field preferred.
Five (5) years of professional graphic design experience preferred.
Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, creative problem-solving, and polished design execution across a variety of mediums.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to develop an idea from a blank page and carry it through final execution.
Proactive find-a-way attitude.
Advanced understanding of typography, layout, color, branding, composition, and visual hierarchy.
Experience working within established brand guidelines and the ability to translate brand standards into creative solutions with strong attention to detail
Strong project ownership and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities independently.
Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Ability to provide constructive creative feedback and confidently communicate design decisions to both internal teams and clients.
Experience with print production, promotional products, apparel, packaging, or other branded merchandise preferred.
Experience with e-commerce, online store platforms, or digital content is a plus; Knowledge of Shopify, Avetti, Brightsites, OMG, or Formstack is a plus.
Experience mentoring, leading, or providing creative direction to other designers is a plus.
